Ukrainian lessons (50 minutes)

Teaching Ukrainian to children age 4-13 in three groups (early learners/beginners, juniors, seniors). Classes are divided by ability; each class has no more than 10 students to preserve our highly interactive mode of teaching. Classes include reading, writing and learning Ukrainian grammar. Children progress from Буквар to more advanced reading (Seniors choose their own book for the next year). All books and learning materials are supplied. The students receive homework following each class which is checked during the following lesson.

Learning Through Play (30 minutes)

This class is for younger children who would like to further develop their language ability in a fun way. Learning through play includes a unique combination of reading and discussing short stories, playing out dialogues, learning poems using pictures, playing games which develop speaking patterns, watching Ukrainian cartoons and answering questions etc. There is no homework.

Junior and Senior Drama & Music Production (50 min)

The Junior and Senior Drama and Music Production classes will work on two separate musical drama productions which will be performed at the big stage in the end of summer term. The Junior Drama students will star in Koza Dereza production; the Seniors will co-write and star in a unique musical, the concept of which will be created in the first class of the term.

Playgroup (25 min)

Playgroup will not be running this term due to the additional work on the drama productions. Playgroup is expected to resume in September.
